HC Deb 03 December 1928 vol 223 c855W
Mr. DAY

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether he has made the necessary inquiries and can now state whether any decision has been arrived at with reference to the request made by the unofficial members of the Council in the Straits Settlements for the creation of a Court of Criminal Appeal on the same lines as that which exists between England and the Federated Malay States?

Mr. AMERY

An inquiry has been addressed by mail to the Officer Administering the Government of the Straits Settlements. Some little time must elapse before a reply is received, but the hon. Member will be informed as soon as it is received.
