asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies when it is proposed to institute the inquiry into the recent troubles in the Solomon Islands; and the name of the Commissioner appointed?

Mr. AMERY

Lieut.-Colonel Sir H. C. poorhouse, Kt., C.M.G., D.S.O., has been appointed Commissioner, and will leave for the Protectorate early in May.
