HC Deb 11 April 1928 vol 162 c1226W
Lieut.-Colonel MASON

asked the Under-Secretary of State for War whether it is the intention of his Department to abolish competitive examinations for entry into Woolwich and Sandhurst: and, if not, whether this question is being considered by Lord Haldane's Committee?

Lieut.-Colonel GUINNESS

There is no present intention of abolishing these examinations, but the whole question of the conditions of entry is still before Lord Haldane's Committee, and it is open to them to make such recommendations as they see fit.
