Member for Monmouth, as representing the Forestry Commissioners, whether he is aware that the sheep pastures in Glenshiel have been taken over by the Forestry Commissioners for tree planting, and that sheep have been driven off the grazings by the Commissioners' representative and have been driven back again by their owners; and how many acres of land, apart from those sheep grazings, are still available for afforestation and not yet planted by the Commissioners?
§ Sir L. FORESTIER-WALKERA certain extent of grazing land together with a larger area of deer forest has been acquired by the Forestry Commission in Glenshiel Parish. With regard to the second part of the question, I am aware of only one incident of the kind in which case 14 sheep were driven out of the Commission's fenced area in the Deer Forest of Kintail, which had been acquired clear of all grazings rights. With regard to the last part of the question, the Commission have clear entry to over 4,000 acres of afforestable land still unplanted.
