HC Deb 05 April 1928 vol 215 cc2143-4W
Mr. ROBINSON

asked the Minister of Health what is the average period between a widow's application for a pension and the date of the issue of the award; and the number of applications received prior to 31st December, 1927, where the widow is still without pension?

Mr. CHAMBERLAIN

The average number of days elapsing in England between the receipt of the application for a widow's pension and the issue of the award is 34.1. There are now in hand in England and Wales 396 cases of claims made before the 31st December, 1927, in which proof that the statutory conditions are satisfied has not yet been obtained.
