HC Deb 05 April 1928 vol 215 c2142W
Mr. E. BROWN

asked the Minister of Health what were the terms of employment of the temporary women staff engaged for work in connection with the central index committee; and on how many occasions has their period of employment been extended?

Mr. CHAMBERLAIN

The women staff employed on central index work were engaged in a temporary capacity, subject, in the case of 105 officers, to a week's notice on either side, and in the case of three officers to a month's notice. There has been no variation of the terms of employment, and no question of extension has arisen.
