§ Mr. LOOKERasked the Secretary of State for War whether any units of the Shanghai defence force have at any time been sent to Tientsin or Hankow for the better protection of British subjects and interests at those ports or either of them; and, if so, whether any such units are still stationed at either of those ports?
§ Commodore KINGIn addition to the battalion normally stationed at Tientsin, one battalion of the Shanghai defence force was sent there in June last, and is still there. No portion of the Shanghai defence force has been sent to Hankow.
