HC Deb 24 November 1927 vol 210 c2074W
Mr. WESTWOOD

asked the Home Secretary if he is aware that staghounds drove a deer into the River Hadden at Bury; that after escaping from the river it was again driven back to the water; that after being chased in the water for a mile the hounds attacked and dragged it down, after which it was roped, dragged out, and killed in front of men and women spectators; and will he set up a Committee to consider and report on the necessary amendments to the law to prohibit such occurrences?

Sir W. JOYNSON-HICKS

I have no information with regard to these cases, and I am afraid I cannot usefully add anything to my previous answers on this subject.
