§ Lieut-Colonel HEADLAMThe provision in Navy Estimates, 1927, for the total pay (including allowances in the nature of pay and marriage allowance) of all ranks of the Navy is approximately £15,512,000. The corresponding provision for 1913–14 was approximately £8,881,000. If 1913–14 rates still prevailed, the sum required for the present year would be approximately £7,076,000.
