§ Mr. MACPHERSONasked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he is aware that the Board of Agriculture for Scotland wrote to the proprietor and occupier 1134W of the estate of Glastullich, Nigg, Ross-shire, accusing him of leaving his farm with thistles, etc., uncut, and so committing a breach of the law; if any official of the Board, or anyone acting on the Board's behalf, made any inspection of the farm before such an accusation was made; if so, what is the name of the official or person who made such inspection; and whether, as there was no foundation for the allegation, he will say what steps he proposes to take?
§ Sir J. GILMOUROn 24th September; 1927, an inspector of the Board of Agriculture for Scotland wrote to the proprietor and occupier of the farm of Glastullich stating that the Board had been informed that thistles on the farm had not been cut and that an official inspection would probably be made at an early date to ascertain whether or not the information was correct. On 27th September, the Board intimated officially that an inspection would be made in terms of the Corn Production Acts (Repeal) Act, 1921. No formal inspection of the farm was made prior to the issue of these communications by the Board and their inspector respectively. In these circumstances the latter parts of the question do not arise.
