HC Deb 17 November 1927 vol 210 c1134W
Colonel WEDGWOOD

asked the Under-Secretary of State for the Colonies whether the Government has approved of the Report of the Feetham Commission and, in particular, of the communal representation proposed for municipal bodies?

Mr. ORMSBY-GORE

I informed the Governor on 27th August that I was prepared to approve generally the recommendations of the Commission for Nairobi and its environs unless any serious obstacle from public opinion had arisen since the publication of the Report or appears to him likely to arise. I have not yet considered those portions of the Report relating to Mombasa or to the settled areas.
