HC Deb 15 November 1927 vol 210 cc833-4W
Lieut-Colonel STOTT

asked the Postmaster-General whether he has received a complaint from the Guild of Postal Sorters that the Chairman of the Board of Arbitration has failed to carry out certain undertakings as to the date the increase of wage should start; if he has inquired into the circumstance; and what action he proposes to take?

Sir W. MITCHELL-THOMSON

The answer to the first part of the question is in the affirmative. The Board of Arbitration referred to is the Industrial Court and the question of dates of application of the award was entirely in the judgment of that tribunal. The award is being fully carried out, and I am not prepared to take any other action.
