HC Deb 15 November 1927 vol 210 c838W
Mr. NAYLOR

asked the Home Secretary whether he is prepared to consider the advisability of issuing keep-to-the-left regulations for the guidance of London pedestrians?

Sir W. JOYNSON-HICKS

No, Sir. I do not see my way to reopen this question.

Mr. NAYLOR

asked the Minister of Transport whether he has given any consideration to the question of providing adequate footways for pedestrians on country roads where no such provision is at present made?

Colonel ASHLEY

The provision of suitable footways is one of the purposes to which grants are habitually made from the Road Fund upon application from the highway authorities, with whom rests the initiative in such matters.
