HC Deb 15 November 1927 vol 210 c843W
Mr. W. HIRST

asked the President of the Board of Trade the conditions, if any, on which the British representative at the League of Nations' Conference on import and export restrictions signed the Convention drawn up by the Conference; whether any statement will be made to the House; and when the Convention will be submitted to the House for ratification?

Sir P. CUNLIFFE-LISTER

No conditions were attached to the signature of the British representative. The Convention, however, provides for a further Conference to be held next summer to determine the conditions required for the coming into force of the Convention, and it will not be possible to advise ratification before the results of that Conference are known.
