HC Deb 15 November 1927 vol 210 c840W
Lieut.-Colonel THOM

asked the Minister of Transport if he is aware that the work of constructing the bridge over the canal at Drumchapel to link up the two sections of the Anniesland-Duntocher Boulevard which have been completed now for about two years has not yet been commenced; whether he can state the cause of the continued delay; and what steps he proposes to take to expedite the construction of the bridge?

Colonel ASHLEY

The delay is due to protracted negotiations between the Glasgow Corporation and the railway company who are owners of the bridge. I am told that agreement is likely to be reached very shortly, and in the hope of expediting matters I am asking the parties to attend a conference with representatives of my Department at the earliest possible date.
