HC Deb 14 November 1927 vol 210 c646W
Sir WALTER de FRECE

asked the. President of the Board of Trade whether in view of the assistance now being given to the British film industry, he will consider the desirability of making representations to those concerned in the production of such films to avoid themes which may offend the instincts of friendly nations; and whether he is aware that for this reason several recent British films cannot be shown in the Far East?

Sir B. CHADWICK

I have no reason to suppose that British film makers do not appreciate the importance of avoiding anything likely to give offence to other nations. I do not think that any such warning as my hon. Friend suggests is necessary.
