HC Deb 10 November 1927 vol 210 cc379-80W
Sir A. HOLBROOK

asked the Secretary of State for War whether he has considered the position of the technical officers of the Royal Army Service Corps under the new scheme of Army organisation; and whether these officers can be transferred to the Royal Army Ordnance Corps for mechanical transport duties?

Sir L. WORTHINGTON-EVANS

Yes, Sir; under the new organisation appointments in connection with production, experiment, design and inspection will be open to officers with the most suitable qualifications irrespective of the arm or branch of the Service to which they belong, and the claims of officers of the Royal Army Service Corps will receive full consideration. As regards the last part of the question, applications for transfer from the Royal Army Service Corps to the Royal Army Ordnance Corps will be dealt with on their merits, should Royal Army Service Corps officers desire such transfer.
