§ Mr. COOPERasked the Minister of Health what action he has taken with reference to the recommendations contained in the Report of the Royal Commission on National Health Insurance; and what further steps it is intended to take, in the matter?
Mr. CHAMBERLAINIn accordance with the undertaking which I gave, I have submitted the recommendations of the Royal Commission on National Health Insurance to the Consultative Council on Approved Societies' Work. Five meetings have already been devoted to the consideration of the several recommendations, and the views of the Council thereon have been communicated to me. A few recommendations still remain to be considered, and will come before the Council at an early date. An amending Bill will then be prepared, but I fear that there is little likelihood of its introduction during the present Session.
