§ Sir A. CHAMBERLAINYes, Sir Mr. Newton protested in writing against this outrageous conduct by the Nationalist troops; he has not reported the receipt of any reply. A telegram of 3rd May from His Majesty's Consul-General at Shanghai reports that the troops have vacated the Concession.
