HC Deb 09 May 1927 vol 206 c48W
Miss LAWRENCE

asked the Financial Secretary to the Treasury what are the numbers of temporary typists and shorthand-typists, respectively, in the employ of the Civil Service as at 31st March, 1927; and what is the average annual wastage rate in these two grades?

Mr. McNEILL

The number of temporary typists and shorthand-typists serving in Government Departments on 1st April, 1927, was approximately 3,600. Figures are not immediately available showing the number of temporary typists and shorthand-typists separately, or the average annual wastage in these grades.
