§ Mr. ERNEST EVANSasked the Secretary of State for War whether he is aware that the string band of the Prince of Wales Volunteers, South Lancashire Regiment, on the 21st February attended in uniform and performed at a meeting of the Junior Imperial League at Shipton; and whether such participation in a meeting of a political character is permissible?
§ Sir L. WORTHINGTON-EVANSMy attention had not previously been called to this matter. I have made inquiries and find that the band was allowed to attend the meeting after the regimental authorities had been assured by the promoter that the organisation was non-political.
