Mr. CHAMBERLAINMy attention has not been drawn to the particular statement referred to by the hon. and gallant Member. A certain number of local authorities have informed me that in their opinion there is no need for the continuance of financial assistance for the erection of houses by private enterprise in the circumstances of their particular district.
