Number of infants' schools or departments merged into or combined with other schools or departments. 127 80 79 Proposals for the closure of infants' schools or the amalgamation of infants' departments with other departments, are considered on their merits, regard being had, amongst other things, to the size, character and scope of the schools or departments affected. The Board's suggestions on the organisation of elementary schools are contained in Circular 1,350, a copy of which I am sending the hon. Member. As regards closure, I would refer him to the provisions of Section 19 (1) of the Education Act, 1921.
