§ Mr. BETTERTONAt the 18th July, 1927, there were on the registers of Employment Exchanges in Great Britain 840,409 men, 152,304 women, and 55,243 juveniles. The latest available figures respecting the coal mining industry relate to 20th June, 1927, when 233,291 persons in Great Britain, classified as belonging to that industry, were recorded as unemployed.
