HC Deb 22 July 1927 vol 209 c724W
Sir R. LYNN

asked the Postmaster-General if he is aware that early in April last an examination in educational subjects was conducted by officers of the Post Office telephones in conjunction with those of the employment exchange in Belfast; that after a selection was made from all the applicants registered at the employment bureau for telephone employment the physically eligible were examined in educational subjects, at which several hundred young girls competed; were the competitors notified of the result; if not, are their names still retained on the register for telephone employment; and, if not, is it proposed to acquaint the educationally disqualified candidates of the result of the examination so that they may be in a position to register for other employment?
