§ Sir A. STEEL-MAITLANDThe latest date for which figures are available is the 4th July, 1927. On that date there were 411 Employment Exchanges and 750 Branch Employment Offices.
The staff in post comprised:
In Employment Exchanges, 9,148 officers.
In Branch Employment Offices, 742 Branch Managers and 138 Departmental Officers.
A number of personal clerks are employed by Branch Managers, but particulars of these are not available.
