HC Deb 25 February 1927 vol 202 c2060W
Mr. SMEDLEY CROOKE

asked the Postmaster-General what is the total number of sick-leave absences, and their average duration, among male and female established staff during the last five years?

Viscount WOLMER

I have no information as to the number of separate sick absences of the established staff of the Post Office, and I cannot therefore state the average duration of a sick absence. The average numbers of days of sick leave taken by established officers in each of the years 1922–1923 were as follow:

Male. Female.
Disabled. Others.
1922 13.7 10.2 721
1923 13.4 9.1 11.7
1924 14.9 10.4 12.7
1925 15.6 10.7 12.5

The analysis of the returns of Sick Leave for 1926 is not yet complete.
