HC Deb 25 February 1927 vol 202 c2056W
Mr. G. HARVEY

asked the President of the Board of Trade if the old wartime Ministry of Food staff is entirely disbanded and the Department closed down; and, if not, what is the present cost?

Sir B. CHADWICK

It has been necessary to retain a very small staff, in order to complete the liquidation of accounts, and the settlement of claims, involving large sums of money. Its cost for the financial year 1926–27 is £5,018.
