HC Deb 24 February 1927 vol 202 c1939W
Sir A. CHURCHMAN

asked the Minister of Transport whether he is aware of the delay in the delivery of coal by rail to small towns and villages in the eastern counties where there is in consequence a great shortage of coal; that at least 20 trucks of coal loaded at collieries for various stations in the eastern counties on the 8th January had not arrived at those stations on the 17th February; and whether he will make representations to the railway companies concerned with a view to remedying these conditions?

Colonel ASHLEY

I am aware of the general position with regard to the delivery of coal in the Eastern counties, and I am in communication with the railway company on the subject.
