asked the Minister of Health the number of houses of wooden construction that have been completed by the London County Council to the last convenient date, and the amount of subsidy paid by the State in respect of such houses?

Mr. CHAMBERLAIN

Twenty-three houses of timber construction have so far been completed by the London County Council, and the subsidy in respect of these houses to be included in the payments to the Council by the State is £9 per house for 40 years. The Council have under construction 304 additional houses of this type.
