Mr. BENNETT

asked the Financial Secretary to the Treasury whether it is intended that the Liquidation and Disposals Commission shall come to an end in March next; what is the number of the staff now in existence, and whether any will be retained after the month mentioned: and what stocks, if any, still remain to be handled?

Mr. McNEILL

The Surplus Stores, etc., Liquidation Department will cease to exist on 31st March next. Any business outstanding on that date will be transferred to existing Departments
