§ Sir P. CUNLIFFE-LISTERThe first part of the question is covered by the reply given by the Home Secretary to Question No. 10. The conditions entitling a ship to be placed on the British register are laid down in Section 1 of the Merchant Shipping Act, 1894. There is no power to remove a ship from the British register so long as the statutory qualifications are complied with.
