§ Earl WINTERTONThe object of the conferences recently held was to enable the Government of India to discuss with the representatives of the Provincial Governments and the latter to discuss with each other certain aspects of excise policy, but the representatives had no authority to reach decisions binding on the Central or Provincial Governments, Those Governments are now considering the result of the discussions.
