HC Deb 21 December 1927 vol 212 c430W
Mr. W. M. WATSON

asked the First Lord of the Admiralty whether the terms of the contract for the repair of the floating dock at Rosyth provide for the necessary labour being engaged through the Dunfermline Employment Exchange; and whether, in view of the growing unemployment in the district, he will cause this condition to be observed in any future contract?

Lieut.-Colonel HEADLAM

The contractor will be urged to engage any necessary labour he may need through the Dunfermline Employment Exchange, but it is not practicable to make it a condition of contract that the contractor should recruit his workmen through any particular Employment Exchange.
