HC Deb 20 December 1927 vol 212 cc229-30W
Mr. SCURR

asked the Under-Secretary of State for India whether he has any information as to the personnel of the Commission which it is the intention of the Government of India to appoint for the purpose of making a survey in a number of countries as possible markets for Indian goods; and when its recommendations are likely to be made known?

Earl WINTERTON

According to the latest available information, the intention is that the trade mission should consist of an official and a nominee of the Bombay Mill-owners' Association. The association has nominated its secretary, Mr. T. Maloney. My Noble Friend has no official information as to the official member of the mission, but has seen in the Press that the Government of India have appointed their Director-General of Commercial Intelligence.
