HC Deb 15 December 1927 vol 211 cc2524-5W
Mr. W. M. WATSON

asked the First Lord of the Admiralty if the works de- partment in Rosyth Dockyard is given an opportunity of submitting estimates for all classes of work which can be undertaken in the yard; and, if not, will he consider the advisability of giving that department the same chance of tendering as is given to outside contractors?

lieut.-Colonel HEADLAM

The works staff at Rosyth is not maintained on a scale capable of doing any important repair work, but if there is work in the yard within its capacity the question of doing it there will be considered.
