§ Viscount SANDONasked the Postmaster-General whether, in view of the installation of a public service in Germany for sending photographs by wire, he will institute a similar service in this country; if so, on what basis; and, if not, what are the obstacles?
§ Sir W. MITCHELL-THOMSONI do not propose at present to institute such a service in this country. There are not, so far as I am aware, any technical difficulties which could not be overcome; but I have no evidence at present of any demand for a service in this country, and in view of the comparatively short distances to be covered and the highly developed postal system, there is not likely to be much scope for it on a remunerative basis.
