§ Sir K. WOODAccording to the Census of 1921, the number of private families in Shoreditch Metropolitan Borough occupying one room was 5,830, consisting of 2,325 single person families, 1,805 families of two persons, 1,051 of three persons and 649 of four persons or more. The population enumerated therein was 11,969, representing 11.5 per cent. of the total borough population.
