HC Deb 06 December 1927 vol 211 c1198W
Mr. LUNN

asked the Postmaster-General if he is aware that a great brass band contest was held at the Crystal Palace in September last, in which 140 bands, or over 4,000 bandsmen, from all parts of the country took part, and that great disappointment was displayed because the results of the various contests were not broadcast; and will he see to it that, on the occasion of the next band festival at the Crystal Palace, the names of all the successful bands are broadcast to all stations?

Sir W. MITCHELL-THOMSON

This is a matter for the British Broadcasting Corporation, with whose discretion I am not prepared to interfere. I will, however, see that their attention is drawn to the hon. Member's question.
