§ Mr. HURDasked the Minister of Agriculture if he can indicate any practical results following upon his Department's recent efforts at agricultural and other shows to prove to farmers the benefits of the improved organised marketing of their produce?
735W
Mr. GUINNESSThe demonstrations to which my hon. Friend refers were designed to illustrate in a practical way the various suggestions for improved marketing which the Ministry has placed before the farming community. These suggestions are still under consideration by the various interests concerned, and although certain developments can be attributed directly to the influence of the demonstrations, notably in regard to the establishment or contemplated establishment of packing stations for eggs, poultry and fruit, my hon. Friend will appreciate that it is early yet to appraise the results of this effort.
