§ Mr. HURDasked the Prime Minister if he will state in broad outline the programme by which during the coming year the Empire Marketing Board intends to carry out its policy of a first place for British home producers in the British home market?
§ Mr. ORMSBY-GOREI have been asked, as acting-chairman of the Empire Marketing Board, to reply. The policy to which my hon. Friend refers is a cardinal feature in the programme of the Empire Marketing Board, and the Board is actively considering the means to be adopted in 1928 for bringing that feature home to the public. The Board's work, however, embraces so wide a field of scientific research, economic investigation and publicity that I could not within the limits of a Parliamentary answer give any adequate account of the activities which it will direct to this special purpose.
