§ Sir W. JOYNSON-HICKSDuring the year 1926, 170,257 articles found in public carriages were deposited with the police. Of these, 68,765 were restored to the losers and 101,492 were unclaimed. I am not in a position to give corresponding figures with regard to articles found in the streets, which could only be obtained with great labour and research.
