HC Deb 12 April 1927 vol 205 c220W
Captain BULLOCK

asked the Postmaster-General what postal facilities exist for sending letters to Tristan da Cunha; and whether it is possible to improve them?

Viscount WOLMER

As my hon. and gallant Friend is no doubt aware, there is no regular communication with the island. A call was arranged in January of last year by the Royal Research Ship "Discovery" and another in March of this year by the Steamship "Suveric." Mails were sent to the island on both these occasions, and I understand that it is hoped with the co-operation of the steamship companies to arrange a yearly call in future.
