Mr. LOCKER-LAMPSONThe statement in the first part of the hon. and gallant Member's question is, I believe, correct in so far as it relates to mothers. As regards the second part, no case has arisen in the past to lend substance to the fears which the hon. and gallant Member appears to entertain, and my right hon. Friend does not consider that the inquiries which he suggests, or any additional safeguards are necessary beyond those already existing, and which were summarised in the answer given to the hon. and gallant Member on the 22nd of July, 1925.
