HC Deb 12 April 1927 vol 205 c212W
Mr. SHEPHERD

asked the Minister of Labour whether he is aware that no shelter from the weather is now provided for persons waiting to sign on at the Darlington Employment Exchange; and whether he will issue immediate instructions for suitable arrangements to be made?

Mr. BETTERTON

The existing premises at Darlington are not regarded as satisfactory and provision for a new building has been made in the current Estimates. The timing system which is in operation at Exchanges obviates the need for attendance before the appointed time for signing.
