asked the Under-Secretary of State for India whether his attention has been drawn to the growing danger to inland navigation by the spread of water hyacinth in East Bengal; and whether any steps are being taken to remove this danger?

According to information received in 1925 the Government of Bengal, in addition to their own investigations and experiments which were still proceeding, had taken steps with a view to dealing with the pest in that province with the co-operation of voluntary associations interested in the matter.
