HC Deb 05 April 1927 vol 204 cc1907-8W
Lieut-Colonel HENEAGE

asked the Minister of Transport if he is aware that the shortage of trucks and the delay in transport of coal wagons on the London and North Eastern Railway is partly due to the long train haulage system operating over the old Great Northern and North Eastern portions of the line; and will he cause inquiry to be made into the working of this system?

Colonel ASHLEY

I have no reason to think that any shortage of trucks or delay in the transport of coal wagons could rightly be attributed to the long train haulage system. I have, however, forwarded a copy of the hon. and gallant Member's question to the railway company.
