§ Commander BELLAIRSasked the Minister of Agriculture whether he has any information as to what countries besides Ireland have successfully resorted to the registration of all bulls so as to eliminate the inferior ones and if any action on similar lines is being considered?
Mr. GUINNESSLegislative action for the purpose mentioned has been taken in the Isle of Man, Western and South Australia, Newfoundland, Tasmania and Italy. The Ministry has no710W information as to the success of such action, except in the Isle of Man, where the Act is reported to be working smoothly. I have considered the advisability of proceeding on similar lines in this country, but I am not satisfied that there is at present sufficient agricultural support to justify the introduction of the necessary legislation.
