§ Colonel DAYasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs what is the attitude of His Majesty's Government towards the request from the Belgian Government for the support of His Majesty's Government in opposition to the action of the Government of Peking in denouncing the Sino-Belgian Treaty of 1865?
Mr. LOCKER-LAMPSONHis Majesty's Government have intimated in reply to an inquiry from the Belgian Government that in their view the Chinese Government have no legal right under the Treaty of 1865 to propose a revision of that instrument.
