§ Mr. F. ROBERTSasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether he has received a petition from the Trinidad Working Men's Association suggesting that the Arbitration Board to be appointed under the Workmen's Compensation Ordinance should be composed of a chief commissioner and two assistant commissioners, and not of one commissioner only; and what action he proposes to take?
§ Mr. AMERYThe answer to the first part of the question is in the affirmative. The provision in the law of Trinidad to which exception has been taken by the Trinidad Working Men's Association is derived from the law of India. No experience of its working in Trinidad is yet available, and the Governor and I are agreed that at present any suggestion for amendment is premature.
